The history of coffee

About coffee spread from East Africa though Europe to Brazil, transported in a lot of myth, legends and stories. The most famous of Kaldi, Abyssinian goat shepherd, who one day noticed that his goats graze like children playing. He saw that they are eating some red berries from bush. Kaldi tasted the berries and start acting like his goats. Nearby the former abbot of the monastery, saw an unusual stir, and gave few berries to the monks. And they prayed all night without any sleep. Other story tells us that the stimulant properties of coffee was discovered by wandering tribes of Ethiopia. This legend is probably closest to the truth, as the homeland of coffee in Ethiopia is considered. It was originally eaten only the berries or choped and mixed with animal fat and rolled into balls to be used for food production. Some traders brought coffee to Arabia, the prophet Muhammad drank wine, made from the soft coffee pulp. But nowhere is described the first human encounter with natural gift that every day millions are enjoying around the world. If the coffee explorer name be known, it is possible that it will be a monument built for him. Well it is safe to say that coffe tree birthplace is Ethiopia highlands in East Africa. In XIII century coffee moved to the next Red Sea cost. Since then, they started over-strong march through the whole world. Yemen, coffee was forst cultivated in gardens and terraced over Mecca and Medina, where Islam throng of piligrims each years, enchancing the taste of bitter drink has been spreanding around the world. Popularity of coffee drinking is also associated with discrimination against women. Initially, they had no right to enter the coffee house, they gathered only by men. In 1674 women launched a petition which complained that coffe drinkin cause impotence. Men, of course, disagreed, but after a little women find theyr place in coffe house. In Germany first coffe house opened in 1677 in Hamburg. In Brandenburg, beer consumption dropped by 60 percent, because of coffe drinking. 

Best quality coffee

Arabica is the best coffee characterized by rich flavor and wonderful aroma. Moreover, the quality of coffee depends on where they mature. The higher sea level coffee is growing the better its quality. Arabica grown on mountain slopes, in places where a lot of rain falls. Arabica coffee sould be well-drained, with two hours of sunlight per day, the rest of the time must be in the shade. Best coffe grows in tropical climat zones 600-1800 meters. Arabica what is the absolute leader in the international coffee family.

I am a coffee love, though it's bad for my health. I indulge in it once in a while....
